Origin and purpose of the educational experience
The “Peralta School of Formation” (Former School of Piarist Formation) was consolidated in 2016. From its beginnings until now, its objective is to offer and guarantee a permanent formation in the key of Calasanzian identity to all those collaborators who in the different presences exercise the educational and pastoral work.
At the organizational level the School is a collegiate group composed of: Luis Fernando Martín (Director); Fr. Miguel del Cerro, General Delegate in Chile; Leonardo Henao, Responsible for the Pastoral Ministry of the Delegation; Ximena Baranda, Quality Coordinator and Cecilia Miranda, Secretary of Education.
The School has a well-defined structure for each group of participants, being these instances a space for the permanent formation of the different educators and collaborators of the works in Chile, with the purpose of benefiting each and every one of our students.
Development of the experience
The training itinerary offered by the Training School is as follows:
Module 0. Induction: Training activity for those who join the works. Its purpose is to introduce teachers and new workers to the knowledge of a Piarist school, its founder and the main elements of the pedagogy of a Piarist educator.
Cooperation Groups: It is the Institutional Formation in “Claustro”*(Faculty) that takes place once a month. Its objective is to analyze and understand diverse practices and themes that allude to the educational task, as well as to deepen in the invitation received by all the teachers of the works to maintain the Piarist charism. We take advantage of these instances to hold discussions throughout the year. We have shared with Father Pedro Aguado, Javier Alonso, Sergio Conci and other guests.
Summer School: It is held once a year, for three days. This training is aimed at all teachers, directors and teaching support teams of the works. In this instance, training is favored based on the definitions that emanate from the Strategic Project, as well as the needs detected by the directors and teachers of the schools themselves.
Module 1 Calasanzian Pedagogy: For participants who have been in our educational works for more than 5 years. It is intended to deepen the identity as Piarist educators, as well as to promote the ministerial identity of the schools of the delegation and to promote the Piarist pedagogy in them.
Module 2. Spirituality: Oriented to school directors or people with future projection in our schools. It is carried out in Spain. It has been carried out twice in 7 years. Through the visit in Piarist educational centers, it deepens in topics of Pastoral, Attention to the SEN, School Coexistence and other topics of interest for our works. The visit begins with a visit to the sanctuary in Peralta de la Sal.
Basic Course on School Pastoral Care: This activity is carried out by those responsible for the Calasanz Movement and the School. It is destined to the formation of the Animators and Advisors of the Calasanz Movement in any of its stages (adults). This activity is planned with the objective of boosting the formation of pastoral agents.
Target audience:
Any person entering our educational works, young pre animators and animators of the Calasanz Movement. In some instances, collaborators of the parishes and the Calasanz Movement.
Assessment. Educational impact
Each formative experience of the school is rigorously evaluated at the end of each meeting. The evaluation made by the participants is quantitative and qualitative. As reflected throughout the years, this proposal has been favorably evaluated and suggestions for continuous improvement are taken into consideration.
The participants value these meetings, as they feel the need to deepen the identity issues and the cooperative work among all. The group reflection has favored the analysis of our reality and the encounter between people.
As the elements of identity point out, we believe that the Formation of Educators is fundamental. It generates bonds, identity and commitment of those who form the human group that is at the service of the formation of our children and young people.
