Talks
Throughout the Congress
March 11, 12 and 13
The talks are intended to be windows through which we can peer into the great educational challenges of our time.
IDENTITY, INNOVATION AND INCLUSION
Integral education has three major challenges:
- The inclusion of all in the educational process, with preference for the most needy.
- Fidelity to the principles and values of the Christian and Calasanctian proposal (identity).
The ability to adapt to new contexts and provide a simple, useful and effective response to the needs of students (innovation).
Conducted by Gloria Ruiz, provincial delegate of schools. Emmaus Province.
THE EVANGELIZING SUBJECT
Calasanz said that the educator should be a person with a “particular vocation and great interior life”, who has humility, patience and other virtues. Moreover, he was convinced that education is more complete in a community that shares life and mission.
Carles Gil, Assistant General for Europe.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
“Education in the use of forms of artificial intelligence should focus primarily on promoting critical thinking. Users of all ages, but especially young people, need to develop a capacity for discernment in the use of data and content obtained from the web or produced by artificial intelligence systems. Schools, universities and scientific societies are called to help students and professionals to make their own the social and ethical aspects of the development and use of technology” (Pope Francis).
