I have been part of the Pious Schools since I was a student of Education in the mentioned Language and Literature in November 1991. My beginnings in the school were in the early education stage, where I was an assistant teacher in 3rd level A with five-year-old children. Throughout the years, I went through different grades and functions in the school.
I am the general director, a responsibility that I live my role with responsibility and commitment, trying to have an overview of all our activities. I am involved in almost everything: pedagogical, extracurricular activities, administrative, and staff accompaniment in general, hand in hand with our Rector, Father Jesús Mari. I seek to foster a positive and collaborative work environment that motivates the staff to live the essence of our mission.
In the pedagogical aspect, I accompany the staff to live the formation of our students with quality and balance, developing their pedagogical, personal, and spiritual potential, ensuring that the school offers a quality education and an optimal learning environment.
Administratively, I am involved in the cost structure that is presented to the representatives, in the school’s improvement projects, and in the payments of the representatives, which consists in dealing with those who are in arrears with the school. I am also aware of the new admission process for students and staff who choose to work at the school.
THE SCHOOL
San José de Calasanz School was founded on July 31, 1959, by Father Gerardo González under the motto “Piety and Letters.” It is located in Venezuela in the city of Valencia, Carabobo state. We serve students from three educational levels: early education, primary, and high school.
The school applies pedagogically in writing the graphic support method based on the grid and the functional communicative method for reading. The students have a time of reflection through the practice of continuous prayer, that helps them to get closer to God.
There are several aspects where we should focus a little more: cooperative and collaborative learning in the whole school community, integrating the Calasanz movement into the school’s own activities, and strengthening the continuous prayer in general average.
PASTORAL
Pastoral care is present in all the activities we plan. From the pastoral ministry, I highlight the work done in initial and elementary education with continuous prayer. This coexistence is done with the students, as well as the preparation of the students for the sacraments of communion and confirmation.
MY PASSION.
I am passionate about the proposal of an education where the student has the possibility of having an integral formation (pedagogical, psychological, human, spiritual, social, and in values), graduating young people who can see the different social realities that exist and who can look at them and approach them from a Christian human perspective.
INNOVATION
Regarding pedagogical experiences: the Geo history contest and the Spelling Bee in English.
In pastoral ministry, on Sundays, we go to mass, an activity where we invite students and their families to share the Eucharist. We do it every Sunday from the youngest to the oldest students.
