For many years, the Piarists have been working with a series of educational actions that, parallel to the school, the parish, or as autonomous projects, respond to the desire to offer education to the weakest and poorest, who for various reasons remain on the margins of the EF. These inclusive alternatives, which we have traditionally called “other works”, are not only legitimately considered today as Piarist, but are also well placed within what we understand as NFE. That is why we now have the possibility of welcoming them, systematising them and strengthening them, because they “make the Calasanctian charism present, updating it with creative fidelity”. A path towards the poorest (46th General Chapter of the Pious Schools).<\/em><\/p>\nIn fidelity to tradition, the Piarist mission is preferably carried out in the popular school in those countries where the social and legal conditions permit. In places where it has not been possible to open schools, the Piarist ministry is maintained in the areas of evangelisation, catechesis and non-formal education of children and young people.<\/p>\n
The non-formal education centre: It is a community space for the development of various non-formal education programmes. It emphasises the relational aspects of education and is organised according to the educational needs and opportunities of the particular setting. It can be an autonomous centre with its own organisation, but it can also be linked to a school or a parish. Generally, it is more flexible than the school and adapts to the specific needs of the place. In the Pious Schools there are cultural centres, hostels, social centres, agricultural schools and houses of coexistence. All these institutions contribute to the integral development of young people alongside the work of the school.<\/p>\n
Homes, residences and boarding schools: educational spaces where residents are accompanied in their educational process and mostly live in full-time boarding schools. The beneficiaries are children and young people at risk of social exclusion or who have difficult access to education.<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de muchos a\u00f1os de ricas experiencias escolapias en el campo de la Educaci\u00f3n No formal, el Cap\u00edtulo General de 1997 declar\u00f3 que \u201clas Escuelas P\u00edas consideran medio propio y caracter\u00edstico para realizar su misi\u00f3n la escuela popular cristiana, organizada con m\u00e9todos sencillos y eficaces, y asumen tambi\u00e9n como propio cualquier otro medio orientado a formar a la ni\u00f1ez y juventud, y llevarlas a Cristo<\/i>\u201d.<\/p>
El Cap\u00edtulo General habla de \u201cobra escolapia no escolar<\/b>\u201d que surge como respuesta a los nuevos retos, urgencias y necesidades educativas fundamentalmente \u201cno formales\u201d que afloran en este tiempo y hacen presente el carisma calasancio actualiz\u00e1ndolo con fidelidad creativa.<\/p>
Doce a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s (2009), se aprueba el documento \u201cLa Educaci\u00f3n No Formal: un camino hacia los m\u00e1s pobres\u201d en el que se abre una nueva v\u00eda para actualizar el ministerio escolapio frente a la tradicional y secular educaci\u00f3n formal.<\/p>
Para impulsar el car\u00e1cter escolapio de nuestras parroquias y centros de culto, la Congregaci\u00f3n General ha constituido el Equipo de Educaci\u00f3n no Formal coordinado por el P. Daniel Gonz\u00e1lez, de la Viceprovincia de las Californias.<\/p>
PLAN DE ACCI\u00d3N SEXENIO 2015-2021<\/b><\/p>
\u201cSeguir impulsando la Educaci\u00f3n No Formal en la Orden, en todas sus plataformas y desarrollar en ellas procesos de evaluaci\u00f3n de la calidad calasancia\u201d.<\/i><\/b><\/p>
1) Crear sinergias entre las obras de Educaci\u00f3n No Formal (ENF) entre s\u00ed, y tambi\u00e9n con el resto de obras educativas, especialmente con las Escuelas.<\/p>
2) Seguir profundizando en el concepto de ENF tomando como referencia el documento aprobado en el Cap\u00edtulo General del 2009. Profundizar en c\u00f3mo organizar una plataforma de ENF propia (Centro Cultural, Centro Social\u2026)<\/p>
3) Hacer un diagn\u00f3stico de c\u00f3mo est\u00e1 la ENF en la Orden y realizar una valoraci\u00f3n, con la mirada puesta en su impulso y desarrollo.<\/p>
